Kolmali Oil Drilling: STAKEHOLDER HAILS FEDERAL GOVT’s EFFORT

The Zonal chairman Independence Marketers Branch of NUPENG IMB Kaduna, Comrade Yusuf Olaide has expressed optimism on the discovery and flagging up of Kolmali oil drilling in Alkaleri areas of Bauchi and Gombe states by the federal government.

He made this known while speaking with Journalists on the project.

The IMB Zonal chairman said it is a welcome development as all stakeholders in the industry stand to gain from the oil drilling.

According to him government would benefit alot especially through Kaduna Refinery, because of its proximity to the oil drilling area.

Comrade Yusuf Olaide stated that all measures should be taken to safeguard the project to get the desired result.

He advised communities in the project area to play important role in protecting facilities for the oil drilling to achieve success.

The union leader urged the communities to see the oil exploration as their own and depend it in whatever way possible for socio-economic development.

The Independent Marketers Branch chairman however emphasized on the need for various oil Companies participating in the Bauchi/Gombe oil drilling project to ensure effective engagement in carrying out their Corporate Social responsibilities to support local communities there.

Comrade Olaide also appealed to all stakeholders in the nations oil industry to ensure that the dream of the project is one hundred percent of achieved to further boost the Nigeria’s economy, as well as create more jobs opportunities for the citizens.

On the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding MOU between Nigeria and a Korean Company for the rehabilitation of Kaduna Refinery, the IMB Zonal chairman described the move as a step in the right direction towards restoring the lost glory of the Company.
