State Police: FEDERAL GOVT CAUTIONED

From Balarabe Junaidu Nuhu, Kaduna.

As more Nigerians continue to agitate for the creation of state Police, governments have been advised to treat the matter with caution.

A community leader and Public analyst Alhaji Abdullahi Zubairu Sarkin Fada gave the advice while speaking with Journalists in Kaduna.

He said Nigeria is not ripe for the state police, looking at the current situation concerning the unity of the citizens.

Sarkin Fada noted that if created some politicians and selfish people would come up with their agenda to support further division among Nigerians.

According to him with such development the present dream for continued corporate existence of the country would be elusive.

Alhaji Abdullahi Zubairu maintained that instead of such wild goose chase, government should properly equip and fund the Nigeria Police, Vigilante Group of Nigeria and other security outfits to check crimes and criminalities in the country.

The Community leader was also of the opinion that creating state police at this material time would only succeed in polarising Nigerians along ethnic, sectional and religious lines.

He also added that if care is not taken, the recruitment of the personnel in the state police force could be carried out with selfishness by those in charge of the exercise.
